GENERAL ASSISTANCE
Every Township is required by State Law to operate a General Assistance Program.
General Assistance provides a monthly voucher payment of qualifying bills on behalf of individuals who earn less than $220.00/month. Payment of "necessary and essential" medical assistance that cannot be accessed through other agencies is provided for individuals receiving General Assistance. All General Assistance recipients are required to participate in the township's job search work and training program.
EMERGENCY ASSITANCE
Township families who do not quilify for cash assistance at public aid or general assistance through the township, are eligible to apply once every 18 months to the Township for financial assistance. They must call the township for an appointment. (847) 428-8092
The Emergency Assistance program will continue until all the funds allocated for the fiscal year are expended or the board chooses not to continue the program. The Township is not required by law to offer this program.
